Tours of Rome don’t necessarily head out to these areas, but there are plenty of hotels and apartments around here so it’s important to look into where you can get a great American breakfast!
Bakery House is well known for its cupcakes, but the breakfast is just as good. Offering bagels, pancakes, waffles, pastries accompanied with fresh fruit and washed down with orange juice or hot drinks, this is the perfect place to fill yourself up before a busy day of exploring the city. Prices are slightly above average, but it’s worth it! It can get really busy here, but they do take bookings if you don’t want to be left disappointed.
A top tip would be to get a cupcake to take out, ready to indulge in later on your Rome tour that day!
3. Rec23 Restaurant Emporio Club

If you’re in Rome over the weekend, a visit to Rec23 is a must! By night it’s a busy cocktail bar but at the weekends (12.30-3.20pm) it becomes a trendy brunch spot, popular with locals and visitors alike. Unlike many other places to grab an American breakfast in the city, this is an all you can eat buffet-style brunch set up! It’ll cost you around €17, and you can eat as much as you want. Coffee and orange juice are included in the price, too.
There is a real mix of American and Italian foods on offer, but highlights include proper American pancakes, donuts and plenty of other baked goods! A hip and funky place to eat with views of the piazza, it is recommended that you make a reservation if you’re hoping to have breakfast here.
4. Coromandel

With its beautiful wooden beams and low lighting, Coromandel is a firm favourite for an American breakfast in Rome. Brunch is served between 8.30 and 12pm on weekdays, and between 8.30 and 3pm on a Saturday and Sunday. They offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, and a cozy atmosphere looking out onto the city streets.
The large and varied brunch menu offers pancakes, pastries, egg dishes, toasted sandwiches and more. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and even cocktails are available too! It is a bit more expensive than some other breakfast places, but well worth it. The portion sizes are great, and the avocado toast and eggs Benedict come highly recommended.
There is a special allergen menu that can be requested if necessary. Booking is also recommended, as Coromandel can get pretty busy and breakfast is the one time of day you definitely don’t want to be waiting around… They have free WiFi here, too, if you need to check your emails or keep in touch with family and friends back home.

Located in the laid-back bohemian area of Trastevere, Baylon Café is a spacious eatery full of books, colorful decor and a good selection of Italian and American food. There is no need to book, and they’re open from 7am daily so if you’re up and about early for any tours in Rome, head here!
There are plenty of egg dishes on the menu as well as pastries, pancakes and more. They offer vegan and vegetarian options, and the prices are fair. For somewhere relaxed that opens earlier than most other restaurants and cafés in the area, Baylon Café is a great choice.
6. Yellow Bar

For all-American cuisine no matter what time of day it is, Yellow Bar has you covered - but their breakfast is particularly praised. The portion sizes are plentiful, and the prices are extremely reasonable - for €10, the ‘Big Yellow’ breakfast is big enough for two. Pancakes, egg dishes, pastries and more are available until 12pm, and they are actually open 24 hours a day!
Free WiFi is available and the coffee is great; they take card and the staff will be happy to give you directions and suggestions to ensure your trip to Rome is the best it can possibly be.
